Lincoln Reagan Dinner at Heritage Hunt Country Club

First, I'm falling behind on my blogging, and although this event took place at the end of February, the post feels relevant since it was a brand new experience for me.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I don't broadcast political views or alignments, and I don't align myself too strongly with any political party.  Anyone who knows me well, also knows that I love trying new things, I love challenges, and I love completely unfamiliar territory.  When I was asked to shoot the Annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner held at the Heritage Hunt Country Club in Gainesville, Virginia this year, my hesitation was short lived.  I'm glad I took the opportunity.  This was an adventure, a learning experience, and an eye-opener.  Below is a peek into the world of local political fundraising.

The Prayer and National Anthem, by Mr. and Mrs. Beckles

VIP Speaker, Danny Vargas with his lovely wife.  His speech made me wish he'd actually join politics.  His views were far less political than human.  He was given a well deserved standing ovation.

It was definitely a night that gave me a perspective I couldn't have had previously.
